Current music:Revolution - Rilo Kiley

Well I'm the next evolution of the revolution

Character's Name: Jean Grey
Codename: Skin
Age: 31

Powers: Jean is a shape shifter, able to alter the formation of her biological cells at will and thereby assume the form of other humans. When shifting other mutants, she does not assume their mutant powers. She can alter her body-mass to morph into people larger and smaller than herself and she has the ability to create the appearance of clothes out of her own body. She can increase her strength and speed depending on the size and shape of the body she morphs into, and can morph into animals an inanimate objects. However while she can successfully mimic human voices she is not capable of making animal noises while in animal form, so she tends to be more conspicuous. Her powers come with a certain degree of regeneration. If she was to lose a finger, she could morph a replacement one in a jiffy, and if she were cut she could morph the skin together or morph extra skin over the wound. It only works for surfaces wounds, mostly, as internal injuries are more difficult for her to assess. As a side effect of this power, her natural aging process has been suppressed; she will not age in the same way that others do, and barring outside influences she will live much longer than the average life expectancy. [Mystique]

Biography/History: John and Elaine Grey dearly wished for a child and they were rewarded with a beautiful baby girl. She was perfectly healthy in every way, except for her bright red hair, dark blue skin and eerie yellow eyes. She was quite visibly a mutant, though a strange one at that, because her mutation manifested at birth rather than at puberty. Her parents, while shaken at the thought of raising a blue daughter, nonetheless took her home and cared for her, though in a much more private manner than they had originally intended.

She grew up happily enough, though quite isolated, allowed few visitors, none of whom were not family. Family friends were led to believe she was a sickly child, either disabled or suffering some sort of ravaging disease, and it was best for family and friends to stay away. John and Elaine dealt as best they could with Jean until she was 7, when the other part of her mutation manifested itself as she began to change how she looked. At first she morphed the people she saw on television, pretending to be the kids on Sesame Street, and Kermit and Miss Piggy, but eventually she ventured into pretending to be Mommy and Daddy, which became a bit too much for the Greys, and when they were offered the assistance by two well respected Gentlemen, Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, they gladly accepted.

Jean moved from her house in New Jersey to Xavier's mansion in upstate New York, where she became one of the founding students of Xavier's fledging school for mutants. While she was not the first student, Scott Summers took that honour, she was certainly very astute and perceptive student, worthy of their attention. Her parents visited often, and when she was skilled enough to retain a morph for a longer amount of time, she was allowed to visit her family in return.

Jean grew up with the school. As other students enrolled, she took it upon herself to teach them the ways of the mansion, the rules, both official and unofficial, and while she did not go so far as to be a den mother to the younger students, she certainly looked out for everyone. When she graduated, she went to college and trained as a nurse. She would've gone to Medical school to be a doctor, but the training required meant she'd need to be away from the school longer, and while the school needed a someone medically trained, they weren't in need of a serious surgeon just yet.

So she graduated and found a job working as a part time nurse in a hospital close to the school, and the rest of the time acting as the school's medical officer, patching up scraped knees and treating the occasional fever that came along.

But then the school moved away, and Jean had to choose whether to follow it or stay with the X-Men, and fight crime with the best of them! As fond as she was of the students, she decided to stay in Westchester, with her fiancée Scott Summers and the rest of the X-Men. While her powers do not serve the team so well on the battle field, as they are neither very defensive nor offensive, she goes on more covert missions than people are aware. She has ways of collecting information useful to Xavier's cause without harming anyone inadvertently.

Personality: She's a very bright and happy person, infectious and enthusiastic to a fault. She's very observant and pays extra attention to detail and she's especially good at reading body language, though this is less so much to interpret how the other person feels and more of an instinctual desire to understand what she potentially would be copying. She's very practical, and no-nonsense approach to tasks assigned to her. She does have a fierce temper when provoked, and is not afraid to voice her feelings or concerns if she has them.

Strengths: Confident, Outgoing, Physically flexible, Intelligent.

Weaknesses: A bit bossy, idealistic, insecure about her real looks

Appearance: It's sort of difficult to describe the appearance of one who can change theirs on a whim. Her natural form, the one she was born with, is her most disturbing. She has dark blue skin, that is slightly scaly and reptilian on closer inspection. Her eyes are black, with a bright yellow-orange sclera, and her hair is a bright vivid red. She looks nothing less than alien, and her unconventional appearance was what resulted in her seclusion from the world at a very young age. When her mutation developed and she gained the ability to morph into anything she desired, male, female, animal, Muppet, and she enjoyed herself quite thoroughly exploring all her options. Despite her many options, she finds it very convenient for people to be able to match a face to a name, especially when she is trying to pass for human in the real world. Her default "normal" appearance retains her naturally bright red hair, but her blue skin is white and freckled and her yellow and black eyes are a normal hazel-green. Naturally she's quite a tall woman, and she has quite an athletic body, honed by years of gymnastics, and a little creative morphing.

Character Affiliation: X-Men.
PB: Jenny Lewis.

Relationships
Scott Summers: Fiancé. Scott and Jean were the first and second students of Xavier's School for Gifted Children respectively. Being of similar ages, they grew up together and have been fast friends from the moment they met. When Jean was in her early twenties, just enrolled in nursing school, they started going out and have been in a serious relationship ever since. Six months ago he proposed and they are to be married in March.

Irene Adler:

Alex Summers: Future Brother-In-Law Alex is like a brother to her. They're closer in age than she and Scott are, and have gotten along well since they met in their teens, when they were both students at Xavier's. He isn't bitter about her relationship with Scott, and she is glad to have someone else in her life who she feels comfortable around in her natural state. She finds him very attractive, but she would never act on her attraction out of her love for Scott.
